Hello Fellow RDWorksers...
Hi, I'm Kris and I've just put the finishing touches to a DIY 98cm x 62cm cutting area machine. I was originally going to build a CNC Router but then decided I'd get more use out of a laser and switched over to that. It's my own design, I created a rough work-up in Fusion360 but wasn't working to detailed plans just a rough of idea of what I wanted to achieve.
SPEC:
RECI W2 bought from ManTech Engineering in Birmingham,
4040 and 4080 profile bought from KJN in Leicester
Head and pulleys set from Cloudray
HIWIN carriages and rails from Moore Intl. in Poole.
RUIDA 6445G from Amazon
DIY cooler... Blue plastic barrel with pond pump, 25L of distilled water. I'll be upgrading this to a S&W 5200 as soon as funds allow.
It's up and running but needs some tweaking and I still need to work on the Z axis.
I'll post some pictures at some point.
Cheers, Kris.
