Thanks for allowing me to be part of your forum. I hope I prove to be a helpful and kind laser expert (someday, in the far, far, far, far away future), but for now, I am very very lost.
I had wanted a laser engraver for the longest time and was verging on buying a nice Omtech 50W. However, before I had my order in I received word that my uncle had passed away, and my aunt asked if I would like to have his unused laser engraver. Of course, I said "well yah". So here I am with this laser engraver that was bought brand new in 2016 and never turned on. Sounds good so far, right? Ha!! Never forget, every rose has its thorns, and in this case, there are a great many thorns.
1) I know which controller I have -- but --- I have no idea who the actual machine builder was, just that the machine was purchased via eBay. I strongly suspect the machine is from China.
2) There was a manual in the machine. As far as I can tell my uncle had printed it out himself, but from what source I have no idea.
3) Thanks to this forum I've managed to get the machine physically set up.
4) I now have an issue with (I hope) the settings.
5) I have dark thoughts about donating the machine and cart to Habitat for Humanity. Very dark thoughts
