Y-Axis hangs, grinds and stops - I probably caused this

The QR tag on my laser leads back to Orion Motor Tech which is Omtech - but this machine was not sourced in the US.
The versioning that shows on the controller screen is: RDC V8.00.53 and HMI is 4.01.20. The RDWorks on my laptop is V8.01.54.20210513
I connect my laptop to the laser via USB, the communication works well.
There has been zero-project done using the laser, only "setup" type changes have been made.
>My laser issue is most likely user-caused, and started 2 days ago.
>Startup - When I power on the laser the head returns to home position (TL) without no issue where the limit switches are concerned. Travel along the X-axis is very smooth. Travel along the Y-axis has some slight grating/"shaking" about midpoint for 2 or 3 inches.
>Moving the laser from home using the controller arrow keys - the X-axis travel is as it should be, but the Y-axis travel hangs/halts about 2/3s of the way down the gantry. At that point, the arrow keys on the controller are not responsive.
>"Recovery" - If I power off the machine the laser will travel to home position without issues (excepting the grating/"shaking" about midpoint for 2 or 3 inches)
>If the machine is not powered on I can move the head on both the X and Y axis without any issue at all.
>I have reloaded the factory settings (I'm assuming that when I do that from the controller on the machine that the settings are indeed reverting to what came from the factory and not to some setting that I have "messed up".
(One thing I have noticed is that the X-axis travel is very fast when I power the machine on - perhaps a bit too fast, but I don't think that's part of the Y-axis problem.)
Thanks for reading thru this - if you have any ideas please let me know I very much appreciate your time.
I'm happy to add a video if that will help.
