Good morning everyone,
I'm Mike from NC.
I just bought my 50w Chinese laser, in fact it's still in the crate while I finish cleaning and rearranging my shop to make a suitable home for it.
I'm doing my best to resist the urge to rush into things and break something.
I've been watching Russ' excellent video series for the past several weeks, and I'm up to #36 so far. I've learned so much, but can't wait to see what's next.
I look forward to working with all of you as well in this hobby/adventure, and I do my best to learn something and retain sight in both eyes along the way. :D

Welcome Mike, watching Russ' videos is an education in itself. I have been watching for over 3 years [time flies] and still look forward to his new ones.
We also have a lot of very helpful and knowledgeable members with a wide range of experience. BTW- we require real names on this forum as we feel that it keeps people a lot more civil and 'nice'. Many people don't like this. But it has gotten us this far and we are happy with it. I am on a lot of uncivil forums and they often degenerate into bullying and other nastiness. Gene

Thanks for the welcome!
Sorry about the name mix-up, the board software asked me some odd questions, which I answered poorly, resulting in the naming you saw.
It should be fixed now, thanks to Pete's swift help!
Looking forward to learning about my laser, and specifically how to make a little money with it, since it's intended to be a side business that will eventually allow me to cut back a bit on the work I currently do full time, which is causing me some health issues.
