I'm new to the laser etching/cutting hobby. I've been working with 3D printers for about 4 years. I do have one 3D printer that has a laser attachment that will do some light etching/burning and that is what interested me to buy a larger machine. I recently purchased an Orion Motor Tech 50W 110V CO2 Laser (Chinese laser) off of Amazon. As I was waiting for it to arrive I found Russ' videos and I'm sure his videos already saved me hours of time and possibly extended the life of my first laser tube (we'll see)
So far it's working well, I've tried a bunch of different "safe" materials and upgraded the exhaust after the first day of making my house smell like a fireplace.
I hope to learn a bunch and share if I'm able.
