This is a picture of one of my earliest successes, which I had posted. The laser cut material is 3mm thick blue, mirrored acrylic, while the fittings are matching blue glass cathedral beads and sterling silver wire components. The logo is the company that I work for. Unfortunately I don't recall what settings I used, but cutting acrylic isn't at all difficult. If I recall correctly, Gene cuts earrings from exotic wood. He had posted pics that I found when I first joined and his work impressed me so much that I had to try earrings. I also made a pair of pink mirrored Dumbo earrings for my little sister, with the same fittings (pink beads). These are quick, inexpensive and easy to make and, as I found, very popular. Fittings can be ordered from Fire Mountain Gems: www.firemountaingems.com
I have no affiliation with their website. My wife loves to craft and I've ordered from their site many times for her.

On another note, I've been fighting flu for over two weeks now and have a few complications from that, but I'm hoping to be back into the swing of things soon. My laser is still down at this point, but am hoping to remedy that as well. This is a great forum and I enjoy it tremendously. It's a crying shame about the deletion, but we have some awesome people who are beyond deserving of gratitude and heaps of respect for their efforts in getting us back on track. You all know who you are, so please know that you have both from me.

Thought I had a picture of the pink Dumbo earrings, but apparently not. I had originally cut them from some purple scrap acrylic (ordered several boxes I'd found on Ebay). For curiosity's sake, I decided to upload a picture of them as well.

Purple "bad" minion earrings. Made these for my three daughters. The youngest liked them ... the two older ones, not as much. Hilarious reactions though. 8-)

Thanks, Willy. And I agree, family members are a great starting point for bouncing off ideas and new things.
