Im having a problem when I try to scan (engrave) an object. If I cut a 20mm square it measures 20mm but if I scan a 20mm square the xaxis is longer than 20mm and the y axis is shorter than 20mm. Any help is appreciated...

1. Perform the measurements in the topic below - as a start point (I know you said it cuts correctly but it is step one to make sure)

thanks for the response.. some more info on my machine.. when i purchased it the previous owner had changed out the original control with a LinkMotion by Solustan controller and there was no support for this controller so i decided to install the ruida controller.
I have completed step one several times while cutting acrylic and measuring with a digital caliper so im pretty confident that it is correct, i have not completed step 2 yet but i tried to cut a circle and it cut as a oval instead of a circle so im leaning toward backlash settings etc... thanks for the help...
