I recently upgraded my "50w" 5030 laser to 60w. Now when I attempt to cut anything the laser seems to only receive about 3/4 of the file. For example I sent a test square and it only cut three sides. The beam stops running but the head itself finishes as though it were cutting.
I reset the my ruida controller and tried lightburn and RDworks. The results are the same.

Did you change the high-voltage power supply at the same time that you changed the tube? This sounds like a power-supply issue (or a wiring issue - are the high-voltage connections to the tube secure? DON'T check the connections when the laser is on or even when it's plugged in!

Jeffrey,
I did upgrade the power supply when I upgraded the tube. bought a 60w PSU from LO. I will check the connections on the tube, when its unplugged after a period of time.
The PSU has a potentiometer, is that anything to consider?

That is normally used either to cut off the current curve at a safe level or sometimes to 'tune' the PS to the tube. I don't think that will help with your problem.

does the laser shut off when doing the same portion of a square (left upper corner right lower corner etc)?

Its pretty sporadic how much of the square it will finish. Sometimes it will do one side and others it will does most of the square.

Please observe the control panel on the laser when cutting one of these squares. Are there any error messages (e.g. "Water Protect Error")? Does your laser include a door interlock switch? Assuming you have a RuiDa 644x controller, is there anything connected to CN2, CN3, CN4 or CN6? If so, what is connected?John Halbert wrote: Sun Mar 24, 2019John Halbert wrote: Sun Mar 24, 2019 Any recommendations...

Try cutting a square in such a way that the problem occurs. Then wait a little while (5 mins), reduce the power to 1/4 of the setting you were using and cut it again. Do you get the same result? This experiment is to see if the power supply is overheating and shutting itself off.
LightObject is usually very helpful - have you tried contacting them for advice?

Has anyone asked if you have a mAmeter, and what that does when the cut stops?
