I just recently purchased a 60W preenex Chinese laser from an EBAY seller based in the US. I’ve done a lot of research over the past year and decided to go with this type of unit because of the size and price factor. A 20 x 28 gives more options then the many other more expensive alternatives like glow forge etc... I’ve read about and watched many videos on the units and understand the good and the bad.

It’s a little easier for me to go this route as I have a lot of electrical and mechanical experience. I taught basic electric and advanced electronics for many years after I retired from the automotive business.
I currently run a CNC PLASMA cutter and a CNC Wood milling machine. My main go to CAD/CAM FUSION 360.
I was looking to add a laser to my tool Arsenal, and the new adventure I’m sure it will bring! Delivery date is scheduled for tomorrow so I’m crossing my fingers! ;)

I just inboxed it, after thorough crate inspection I did not find a scratch or ding anywhere!

Went through the machine top to bottom , only think I found was the USB plug wasn’t pushed in all the way on the controller.

Not anything broke or even a scratch.

The Laser tube is DECEMBER 20, 2018 dated so it’s 3 months old.

And the build date on the laser is Feb. 2019!
So far so good!😝

Rich, we have similar backgrounds, trained in electronics in 1965-6-7, worked at that a while and then restored Corvettes [C2,C3] for twenty years and then a signshop for another 20+. I love F 360 and have a CNC router, should have my Wazer waterjet cutter next month. Thank you and all who have donated to keeping our little slice of heaven on the internet. Gene

Nice. I’ve never had a chance to to see a water jet in person.. the Technical school I was an instructor with start their CNC courses of course after I left!🙁
I enjoyed an awesome career with BMW for almost 20 years. No regrets. I was fortunate enough to have been schooled for those 30 years in Automotive systems and electronics and it’s afforded me to maintain and understand this CNC stuff lol😉
I’ve spent the last two years learning CAD/CAM.

Been very educational..
