Cobalt Corner 3.CDR
Is ok in corel. You just need to load it then use cntrl A to select all
Then change the outline from white/transparent to black and it will display.
Exporting from corel as a dxf then importing that to rdworks looks ok. You may need to look at the junction between the C and o of the first word. They overlap and a cut line isolates the 2 letters. It would be better to remove any cuts between them for a stronger model.
If you were intending to etch then you still need to remove the crossing lines as these will produce a unfilled hatch area.
Use the point editing tools to cut the lines in 4 places and the join again with the overlap deleted. Possibly easier in corel? Image shows incorrect red corrected blue
for etch
once this is done select all text in rdworks then [group] and use [handle] [graphic hatch] to fill the shape. Note that this leaves the outline present so this should be set to no output or deleted

This effectively converts the vector image to a bitmap. Why do that when Scanning the vectors would produce similar results?Mike Tuppen wrote: Tue Apr 09, 2019 for etch

agree with your comment it is quicker and you do not have to find the vector to delete - I've used it for simple stuff frequently.
However you need to check the preview to see any problems like the overlapping letters. mark the whole text and set to scan. then preview to check the character crossover. it is not too easy to see the missing infill.
If you use the graphic hatch then it is more obvious, in my opinion , on the main edit page.
Both systems work! so thanks for brining this up.
