Most common Ruida controllers in the membership is the RDC6442G or 6442S or 6442[ES], the previous series was the RDCL320-A. The 320 uses RDworks V6, the 6442 series uses RDworks V8. The panels look similar but if you look at the controller it is pretty easy to tell which you have.

One might also wonder what are the differences between the various 644x variants. The attached Word Doc lists them.

What's the difference between the "G" and the "S"?

Not really sure- they seem to overlap- early 'G's did not have the RTlink 3 post connectors and all of my 'S' controllers going back 3+ years have, but the newer 'G' have that now. Probably some difference to Ruida but none in the real world of burning stuff that I know of.

This is the newest version of the controller most of us have, I thought it was a direct replacement and I was drawn to the keyboard for entries, but the display unit is quite a bit larger- it would not fit in the area I have. Not sure of any other differences, please post if you have one and know what the differences are.

G vs S is single and dual head control. If you're wealthy enough to have dual heads, you have to have the S version, other wise stick with the G.

I've heard, but not verified, that the 6445 actually has less memory than the 6442. Again, not verified, would love to hear from someone that has both and can pull the info on their respective machines. According to Cloudray, the 6445 is also true 4 axis. To me that means that if I want to use a true rotary instead of a drop in, I don't have to plug and unplug and reset to switch from flat to rotary and back. Not that I plan on doing any of that in the near future, but I guess it could be a selling point. Not sure if the 6442 will handle Z axis or power controlled air assist.

So all I have at this point is a bigger display in a slightly bigger case and true 4 axis...

The 6442 does have Z axis control of course and air assist control [not sure what you mean by power?] and a U channel which may be for 4 axis? I would be shocked if the 6445 has less memory as cheap as memory is now, but this is China.

Maybe a self Xmas present? I have found that if you want to get what you really want... buy it for yourself. I would have one if I could fit it on my machine. Maybe....
