I generally go by Scott. I am a multimedia specialist. I make training films, take pictures, and create graphics for my employer. I am retired military and now work in the private sector. Married over 20 years, 2 kids grown and gone, I build PCs in my spare time (when I have it), create things to print on my 3D printer, build furnishings when I need them, I have built two homes, and I make costumes and play at being a super hero at comic cons. I make molds, do some sculpting, sew, do some leather work, I am an amateur electrical engineer, and I love playing PC computer games and working in virtual reality.
My wife says she married me for my sense of humor but I think she was just kidding. I like to fix things even when I don't know how. I try my best to not do stupid things now that I am nearing my dotage years. (that has not been working out

)
I just got into lasing with a small 3 watt job that did a nice job at engraving but I wanted more. I bought my Chinese K40 last week and I have been watching all of Russ's videos before diving in and doing something stupid (see, I am trying

).
I verified my laser worked and shut it down till I read more forums like this one and finish his video series.
