Hello, Jonathan here. Mechanical engineer by day, tinkerer by night (day too, as much as I can get away with it). Been dabbling in CNC for a while, but just got my first (working) laser. Got a diode setup several years ago with the intention to build an attachment for my CNC router, but the more work I put into making fixtures for my router to be super easy for my wife to use the less interest I had in adding another level of complexity to it. So after some research (and a coupon, always important), I got a 100W 6090 from toolots.com (Bolton Tools).

Just getting my feet wet, but enjoying learning so far. Screwed up a couple of times, relied pretty heavily on the RDWorks Learning lab videos to get me back on track (or keep me there to begin with). Looking forward to all that I can do with it.

Welcome Jonathan- I aspire to be a mechanical engineer in my next life. I have seen people struggle with the laser attachments for CNC routers and I believe you picked the correct path. Good lasering and have fun. Gene
