Hi Evan- I bought a desktop Bodor that came with a rotary [that would not work with that machine- not enough Z] and I finally sold it but it came with a connector that fitted into a socket on the machine. Here are pix of it if it helps.
. I have the design for a 20x20 mm rotary I made, similar to the one Russ made from acrylic, but more robust. Here is a pict if you are interested in building one- there is no electrical connection, no calibrations to be made to the machine or the file to be engraved.

Hey Gene,
I can't find where the factory device would plug in. I've followed the Y- Axis wires all over but the plugs are different.
I suppose the one you made might work if I put down a sheet of plywood on the cutting bed. So I thought the factory one was plug and play but it sounds like you have to do some calibrating on the software end.
The one you made does not require any additional work to be done to the files?
Given the price of factory devices and potentially no place to plug it in, I'd be interested in making one.
Peter shared a file for the Russ version but it came across huge!
Do you have plans for yours by chance?
Much obliged
Evan

All of Russ's dfx files must be reduced after import. Russ purposly enlarges because of issue he has experienced with DFX format when importing small details.
