I made this clock several years ago from some scrap maple a local millwork shop was throwing away. This is just one third of the piece. I got two clocks and a platter out of it. I put it to the laser last night and voila!

Looks nice. You may wish to consider applying a sealer or lacquer to the wood and then laser engraving...and then smearing some liquid shoe polish into the engraved lettering...then wipe of the excess.

Thanks, if I remember correctly that's a french polish on there basically. I was surprised it came out that light. The opposite has been my issue on other projects. Shoe polish at this point is a great idea.
