hello
I'm alsmost finished with the build of my first co2 laser cutter.
size is 850x720x350mm
15mm lineair bearings for the X and y axis 15mm hd3 timing belt on the x and double on the Y dirven by closedloop steppers.
for the auto Z height i use a ultra sonic sensor.
all is controlled by a trocen 708lite controller.
i'm using a mcw 60w laser but when i look at the size 1000mmx55mm it will most likely be a 50W.
Yesterday i made the first smoke.
i'm oly not sure if my mirrors are okay becuase untill the second mirror the beam is around 5mm, but from the second mirror untill the 3th (laserhead) the beam gets wider as a move the position of the laser head (this only happen between the second and the 3th mirror).
when i align the mirrors i could see on the alingmend paper tha the spot is close to 15mm at the end of the x stroke and at the start of the x it's around 5 mm.
has anyone any idea what could cause this a faulty mirror maybe?
Hello all

but it s not the dot position that changes but the size.
close tro the second mirror the dot size is 5mm and 720mm way (max Xmove) the dot size is around 12mm the center of both dots stays the same.
Kind regards,
Ruud

Perhaps a bad mirror diffusing the laser beam?
