Thanks for allowing me to join your forum. I'm an old retired guy living in CT. Trying to keep my mind active and learn new things. I have many hobbies. Wood turning on a small scale is one of them and I thought it would be nice to engrave some of the pens and bottle stoppers I make. I don't have a laser cutter yet but am in the process of doing some research. I am inclined to buy a 50w machine off of eBay. Definitely need one with a rotary unit. I have been bouncing all around YouTube to make sure I make the right choice and this forum was mentioned on SarbarMultimedia.

So I will be reading a lot on the forum and unfortunately not contributing much as I really don't know much at this time. Looking forward to absorbing as much knowledge as possible during the short term.

Welcome to the forum Mike,

Quite a few people end up here from Russ great videos, as did I, and it has been a godesend to me, I have been able to solve many an issue and seek most helpful advice from those on here.

Post your questions, you'll get a positive response, and having the laser will definitely complement your lathe etc.

Welcome!

I went back and forth between Thunder Laser and Aeon for almost a year. Luckily I didn't need one right away. haha. I ended up with the Aeon Nova14, which has been an amazing machine.
