Have a new RDC6445G controller, and I have no 'problems' in normal operation.

But when I'm in RDWorks and want to look at a file I've sent to the controller, when I try and read it, I get an error that says 'Old Format'

I'm running RDWorks V8.01.41. Not the latest, but not ancient.

The controller came with RDC-V15.01.17 HMI-V10.01.05.

Is this just a fact of Ruida that the file load is one way in spite of what the option buttons are? Do I need a firmware upgrade? Or do I have something set wrong in the controller? This was an upgrade not a factory install, so there is a good chance I have something set wrong and don't know it / can't find it.

Dave, I think you are on the vanguard of the move to 6445 controllers, we are all interested in your experiences with it. Good luck with this problem.

Seems like I'm always the guinea pig. I have emails out to Cloud Ray since I purchased the controller from them, as well as Russ and Matt. We will see what pops.

Side question to you Gene. With that big bed, how often do you actually feed full sheet width into it for cutting?

Very rarely- actually but we are looking for a bigger bed, when you need it... you need it.

I keep telling myself that I need something to feed full size MDF sheets into, 49" x 97". But it would only be for feeding, not piece size so it may all be in my mind. I'm eliminating a lot of waste now that Russ' nozzles let me drop my bed beyond a frame brace. That allows me to feed 49" long pieces in the front. And my mind says I could eliminate even more if I could feed a full sheet and nest across 49". But 80% of the pieces cut are in the 12" to 20" range, and then I would have to make a support for a full sheet that would sit level with the cutting bed so it didn't hump or droop. I'm slowly talking myself into liking my 500 x 700 again.

Okay, so I'm not the brightest bulb in the pack. Click on UPLOAD instead of double clicking the file in the list...
