Is this a stop button ? ... or a keyed switch .... can you take a better picture of the side with the writing on it?

Now i just need to find one. I have not a clue were to start. The company i bought from is the middle man and does not have any parts and i do not read Chinese very well.
Hard to tell from the photos what kind of switch this is. I would bet that, in addition to the switch being low quality, that it's rated for a machine designed for 220V. When we operate the machine at 110V, the amount of current passing through that switch doubles - at yours couldn't handle it.

What did the switch do? Was it the power switch for the machine?

Ah, so. It isn't the first EMO switch to fail (melt) on one of these lasers. The last one I heard about failed in the ON position!!

Make sure you replace it with a real EMO switch from a reputable manufacturer. Safety device are not the place to try to save a buck.

No that is not the e-stop button. It is the main power switch.
