Hello,
New to the group, and lasing.
I have a blue Chinese laser with a 300 x 500 mm bed, Ruida RDC6442G(EC) controller. The issue is thus.
It was working fine and was tweaking in the system using suggestions from both this forum and Russ's youtube channel.
saved all my settings, turned it off and went to bed. The next morning when I powered it up the the X- only went positive (to the right. in movement **The face panel on the machine shows that the movement is going to the left and number is getting smaller). The Y movement in + and - works fine. The X+ moves as expected too. I checked all my software settings and they are as Russ prescribed. I powered down and swapped the X and Y plugs on the controller, the Y moved as the X did previously (regardless of face panel arrow pressing, both axes moved the same direction) and X moves as expected.
I updated the firmware to 8.00.53 from 47. Same symptoms exist.
So...
X- moves to the right but coordinate counter shows to the left.
X+ moves and counts to the right
Y- moves down and counts down
Y+ moves up and counts up.
Please let me know if you have any ideas of where to look for a correction.
Thanks
-Robb
X-axis movement both positive travel

Sounds l8ke a controller problem since it moved when you shifted the cables. Restoring the original settings indicates it is notHong you inserted in the settings.

You could try switching the X and Y plugs on the controller- see if the problem transfers?

Thanks for your help.
So it seems that I need to get a new controller board. Does that sound about right?
Then if that is the next step, do I get the 6442 or 6445? I have the 6442 now and would the 6445 be a logical upgrade?
Thanks for your help.

If you can it would be worth checking all the wires to the motor before purchasing new board. It looks as if you lost a drive to the motor - wire, motor, connector, drive board. possibly direction control to driver is missing?

If you had done some wiring I would say you have things swapped. I do remember when I put my new 6445 in I had a backwards thing going on and had to change a home setting or something but I don't remember what it was. The image on the display was reversed from what RDWorks was downloading and from what was actually being cut. Never got as far as looking at the coordinates displayed. Don't know if firmware or backup setting would over write those particular items as they would be machine specific. I'll hunt back through my emails from Russ and see if I can find the answer. Can't hurt.
Found it! Check you screen origin, that was my left right problem. I had to access it from the controller, not through RDWorks / Vendor settings.

Be aware that the control panels are differently sized, not sure about the actual controller.do I get the 6442 or 6445? I have the 6442 now and would the 6445 be a logical upgrade?
