Hey Community,

great to be here.
Today at my company our new Red/Black 100W Ebay Laser has arrived and to my utmost surprise it was equiped with a Ruida RCD6442S-B CE. Whatever the B stands for. I believe CE means china export because it certainly can't mean proper CE certification :D

Glad to be here and share any information I will gather about the machine and the controller setup in the days to come when we do a complete teardown to make the machine safe to work in a german company.

Some more informations maybe?

- Sales price in E-Bay 2.995€
- Listed with DSP Controller (pictures showed TopWisdom one)
- Was listed with Chiller, came with waterpump...luckily no problem for us as we have an industrial chiller already right next to the place where the machine goes from our old 75.000 DM laser that broke down after 22 years of service...yes really 22 years with the first Synrad tube (48-5)by the way
- Honeycomb is in bad shape
- One of the controller cables is hanging of loose, gotta get a wiring diagram to figure out what that one does
- Grounding on machine is fine

And some pics from the arrival:

Thats enough for the beginning I believe!

Enjoy
Sven

Welcome Sven- you are indeed lucky with the Ruida controller. I doubt you will ever find a proper wiring schematic for the machine but if you look in the home built subforum our own Tim has a very nice one with the Ruida wiring. Most of these machines deserve a good looking over electrically, some are quite well done and some are garbage. If you have any questions we have helpful, knowledgeable members- ask away. Gene

Hey Gene,

thanks for the warm welcome.
Yeah I meant the Ruida output diagram :D

I am almost certain that every single chinese machine is quite "individual" with the other electrical wiring.
As I am an electrical engineer and "Laserschutzbeauftrager", yeah I know funny german thing there, means "Person in Charge of Laser Safety" I will have to draw up my own wiring diagram from following the lines and eventually replacing anything that is not conform to our german standards.
Need the diagram to get approval for use.

But all in all, I am quite happy! I mean we where thinking of spending big time money on Trotec but decided that we will try our luck with simple and cheap and go the upgrade/make safe path because we can do quite a lot in house!

BTW: The pictures of the machine on arrival which i couldn't add to the first post because my phone didn't want to download to pc

Cheers

The branded laser tube is fairly rare, and a good thing, many don't seem very proud of their tubes.

Hey,
pretty interesting. I see your tube is a bit older! Is it still working?

btw: this is what RDWorks says about the mainboard version and the operated time out of the box.

Funny that it has nearly 3 hours of operation but only 55 seconds of lase action. How I love our chinese manufacturers...proper qc at the end of the line

Greetings
Sven

I received my machine earlier this year, in January. as far as I can tell, bacause I am realy newbie, it seems to be working well. The honeycomb is a little hard to level, at least by my self, and I still haven't had the courage to align the mirrors, and from what I understand they seem to be a little out of alignment.
I am also thinking of put an analog milliammeter, which I have already ordered, and I have asked the seller to tell me what current this tube can take, so I don't take the laser above 80%.

Hi Sven,

I am thinking on install an ammeter on my machine. Do you know the safe value on the current (mAmp) to our tubes?

Thank you in advance,
Fernando

Hi,

i can only guess according to what SPT and RECI say. It should be somewhere around 26 milliamps to 28 milliamps.
Maybe someone else with more knowledge in 100W tubes from China can help here?
