Scott- I would encourage you to open a new thread as this one is getting old and confusing. If you can scan at 800mm/s I am assuming that that laser has an RF tube? That and our DC lasers are very different, mostly when scanning.

Hi Pete. Both my laser have reci 100w. The Aeon is a Taiwanese brand. I bought it as a demo 2.5yrs ago. Absolutley nothing has gone wrong with it. Still has full power. I will start a new thread if the Chinese one still has problems after I have done this job. Its doing a good job cutting. I will take a video of the Aeon scanning at 800mm per sec
90 watt efr laser tube. 1200x900 cutting bed, homemade, Rd works 8.01.18. TL I am a professional whipmaker (20yrs) bought a laser as a saw a video 18 months ago and the amount of spare leather I have, thought I would play around and make other leather products.

Hi Pete. Before and if I start a new thread, I have a question. Is it really a problem for the laser, if it does scan straight. What I mean is, it still scans within the confine of the area, it just gives a different look.? I personally can live with the end result, for the work I do. So if there is no long term problem, I will probably just live with it. Apparently I will receive an email from the companies tech man. I will wait to see what he says. They sent me version 8.01.48 of rd works. It seems pretty good. I havent really dived in an had a look , but it seems to work fine. One thing I noticed is when I sent the file to the machine , it is saved in the machine under the name on the file, rather than default.
Thanks for your help

Scott,
Did they by chance send any documentation on the .48?
I got a copy when it was released by accident, and I'd LOVE to get some information on the CANVAS feature. It appears to be a version of LightBuns camera feature, but I can only get it to function with my laptop internal camera. Can't get an external to talk to the software. Any tid bits you could pass on would be greatly appreciated.

Well something is wrong. It may not be something that will develop into a bigger problem but until you can determine the cause you can’t rule out that it will degrade significantly. I would develop a test file and create a benchmark to reference over time for comparison to determine if there is any degrade over time. If you see no appreciable difference and or it does what you want then it doesn’t matter. Me ....I’m a mechanic/machinist ...I am a bit anal about machinery ....if it is not working correctly I tend to work until I understand why and I may not fix it but I usually do even if I have to rebuild it. Ultimately it is personal choice.scott martin wrote: Tue Aug 11, 2020 Hi Pete. Before and if I start a new thread, I have a question. Is it really a problem for the laser, if it does scan straight. If the rail bearing Rails are good then the next thing I would inspect closely are all the fasteners holding the laser head to the gantry AND the fasteners that hold the rails
