Hi,
I have a laser similar to the one that Russ uses in the beginning of his YouTube series. I dont have the Ruida controller, I am using Cohesion 3d laser board instead.
I am here to learn

Welcome Joe- I am not sure how much of our Ruida controller info will be helpful to you but we will do what we can to answer your questions. My laser was built with a Leetro controller and after research I decided to change the Leetro to a Ruida as the software is much better. We are all working with the same basic components so the rewire may be frustrating but is not hard. Are you comfortable with your current software? At the time I was especially interested in the material Library function as we use many substrates and have several people using the laser when I am AWOL. Gene
You might check with Lightburn to see if your controller is covered by their software- you would not need to change the controller [probably] and LB is far superior to any Chicom software I am aware of.

Hi Gene,
I am using lightburn and I am very happy with it. A lot of the info here is still relevant to my machine just like Russ’ youtube Chanel . My machine is nearly identical to Russ’ original machine.

Good deal Joe- I have used RDworks for four years and know how to work around most of its limitations but I am getting comfortable with LB and it is certainly a great program and one where we , the users, can actually suggest improvements or ways to make the program work better for us. This is a very unusual and wonderful feature in my opinion. We have more and more LB users all the time so our membership should be helpful.
