Hello,
Trying to make an edge guide but something is preventing me from cutting to the edge or limit, X400, Y0. Probably a setting but i don't know what it is. Have googled but I'm likely using the wrong terminology.
TIA

The controller prevents getting to close to the edge because of “overshoot”. Without this function you could potentially run in to stops.
Try backing off an inch or so

Thank, I'll try moving the edge a little at a time.

if you are sure there is no mecanical reason to limit the travel, you can override the settings of your machine and gain some distance. but be cautious.
the machines have generally only sensors on the origin side, and NOT on the opposite side, so the only thing that prevents the head-banging in the machine walls is the table-width-setting.
you can maybe use the controller to push the head the furthest, then stop the machine and see if you can move the further by hand. if there is left space, you can adjust the table width in the controller settings.

I moved the edge from X0 to X25 and was able to make the cut. Strange thing, the laser cut where I had it set to cut at X0 and set the job origin.
I measured my bed, the bed is deeper than 400mm by a lot. I forgot what the actual measurement was but I'm guessing it was a good 50mm oversized.
Going to make another this evening and move it out to about 38mm so the edge guide will be the same width along X and Y.

on my laser it is perfectly possible to extend the x and y travel above max. settings (what I did in the vendor settings). I just have to be mentally aware that on both xmax AND ymax position at the same time the air valve will hit the z rod a little
