Hello all,

I've been using 20 and 30w Fiber and MOPA Galvo Lasers for several years. The company I work for just bought a Robotecnc 300w Reci 1300x900 Co2 with o2 assist to be able to do some of the small things we've out sourced in the past. I'm completely new to Co2, reading through the manuals and waiting for power to be run to the machine, chiller etc. and run a duct to vent it. I'll likely be reading a lot of posts to figure this thing out and probably check if anyone from the Sac Robotics club is familiar with these machines. Looking forward to seeing what all this thing can do.

I created a xcopy /h /i /s backup of the flashdrive that came with the laser and the original drive is locked up in the server/computer parts room. That's the first thing I do every time we get a new machine.

SO I just finally today have the laser that we bought in November working. Thanks to Matt @ MW Laser, he was very helpful and patient with me (being new to co2 lasers). The Company we bought it from wouldn't give us any support and stopped replying to email. Matt helped me figure out that the Ruida controller was bad, it had no memory and wouldn't recall/store settings. After ordering a new controller he walking me through setting it up from scratch. I had to align all the mirrors because they were off by over 4 inches to the Left from mirror 1 to 2 at max Y and off by nearly 3 inches at max X and min Y. I've got the stepper motor calibration done today. My boss is pressing me to get it cutting 1mm stainless steel (the reason we bought it). I've got oxygen for the assist, from what I've read it looks like the regulator should be set around 10psi. But I'm going to have to experiment with speed/power settings. Anyone have any starting point suggestion for a 300w laser cutting stainless steel?

Accessories: I have a combining lenses, pin tables [homebuilt], honeycomb tables , wireless remote, Modifed Ultimate Air Assist, home built non-powered rotary device, PrusaMK4 and Mini Prusa printers.

That looks like quite a machine- should be fun experimenting with. The tube must be two units in one main body to get to 300W? I know nothing about cutting metal with a CO2 but I am very interested, please include us in your adventure. Thanks Gene

Correct, dual 150w tubes in one housing with a beam combiner

I got the oxygen assist hooked up, read and watched everything I could find and actually cut some stainless steel today.
