Please help! Running OMT 50W CO2 Laser w/Ruida controller and LightBurn. I am unable to CUT SHAPES. When I go to CUT SETTINGS EDITOR, there is no option to enable CUT MODE. So far, I have reset to default settings, removed and reinstalled DEVICES. Manually and Auto-detected DEVICES. Restarted after each attempt. Unable to get response from LightBurn, still waiting on an email. Looked in this forum and LightBurn's forum for assistance with no such luck. Any help appreciated, I am new! Thanks so much!

I am sure someone here that uses lightburn will help you at some point but the lightburn site has many more Lightburn users that can probably answer your question.

Thanks for the response. I would love to get on the LightBurn website, but I registered and they have yet to send me the confirmation email, hence, while I am stuck in the mud. I can look at others' posts, but cannot post my own. I was just hoping someone here would see it and be able to help as well...I don't do well when I am stuck in the mud...lol going on day 3...eek!

In the Cut Settings editor under Mode- you want the 'line' option for cutting and the 'fill' setting for engraving. There are other settings that will not concern you until you are better versed in the program. If this is not the problem you are having please take a screenshot of your Cut Settings and we will figure it out. Gene

Here is the screenshoot. I have tried manually creating and also importing different file types. It makes no difference. This screenshot is from a manual creation. (Thank you soooo much for your assistance!!!)

The screenshot looks good- lets back up a bit- has the laser ever cut for you? How new are you to the sport? You understand the laser will not fire without several conditions being met, for instance water protection [there are several ways this can be set up and detected] and often interlock switches on the doors. There are quite a few possibilities if it has never fired.
If you have not, I would recommend watching Russ' videos starting with this one- I think it is a series of six videos and he is a good instructor.

First, what material are you cutting?
Second, turn that power up to 75% (which is essentially the safe max for our tubes) I have same laser.
Don't try to cut below 10 on the speed. I have seen times where laser will not fire at low speeds. You may have to make one than one pass depending on material.
Put the minimum power to 10.
As Gene stated, the water flow must be present or laser will not fire, it will throw error message for that one.
As far as the support forum go there from the Lightburn help menu option and you should be able to jump right on with a search.
Another very important thing probably not related to this problem is the home position needs to be top left except if using rotary.
Make sure Rotary not enabled also as it can mess up stuff.
I will try to check back soon to see if you still need help

“Cut” was renamed to “Line” - the functionality is exactly the same.
If you’re cutting slow, set Min Power and Max Power to the same number - at or below the “Start Speed” setting in the controller firmware (10mm/sec default) the controller only uses the Min Power setting. This is probably the behavior Jack has seen, without realizing it was the Min setting. The behavior is just a quirk of the Ruida controller, and we’ve documented it here: https://lightburnsoftware.github.io/New ... c-settings

One last thing - if you have a Microsoft based email address (@live, @man, @hotmail, etc) that would explain why you’re not getting the forum email - MS’s servers treat our forum mail as spam and won’t deliver them. You can always just contact support directly using support@lightburnsoftware.com and we can also manually set up your forum account.
If you have a GMail or other email address to use, that would work too.
