Laser problems Ruida 6442 Need help

I hope i can get some help here.
I have a 1390 150w laser with a Ruida 6442 controller.
I turned on the machine a few days ago and it went to load the tempfile and then the x axis started moving very slowly the wrong direction.
it never homed, I looked at the speed setting and it was 0 after a few minutes the settings came back and I could move the head again.
if I hit reset it does the same thing.
I'm now afraid to turn the machine off.
I have checked all the connections and power supplies.
after it finally starts to respond i can run the laser but my zero is in the wrong place.
Anyone have any suggestions?

This has the elements of issues I'm suffering at the moment .
Did you get anywhere with it , be interested to know the outcome.
Sometimes when i turn on my machine it homes and then continues to try to keep going .
Other times when turning on is displays a simliar isssue to yours as in it very slowly moves in a direction seems to run out of steam and stop . ?!
Hope you've found a solution .
If I get anywhere I'll let you know ..

I am not sure why Randy's question was not answered but we try to get people to first introduce themselves, which activates their acct, and then ask a question in a second post. Sounds like a problem with the limit switch. The way these machines go home is that they move quickly in the direction of the limit switch until the switch is activated. Then they move very slowly away from the limit switch until the switch is deactivated. You can check this by using a piece of ferrous metal (steel) to activate the switch. IIRC you have to activate it twice for the laser to finish homing.

If my theory is correct, try re-aligning the limit switch so that it is a bit closer to the laser head, thereby making it easier for the limit switch to detect it. If the switch doesn't work, or works intermittently with a piece of steel, then check the wiring or replace the switch.

A clarification: here's how the homing works:
Laser head (and gantry) moves quickly towards the limit switches. Each axis stops when the limit switch detects (lights up).
After both limit switches detect, the laser head + gantry moves very slowly away from the limit switches. Each axis stops when the limit switch no longer detects (light goes out).
The laser head & gantry then move very slowly until the limit switches detect again (lights up).

Jeffery , ( 1st i do have another post where I'm asking for help on this for extra depth and background ) but to the confines of this post ;
When mines homing it gets to the limit switches ( which I refer to as Proximity )and they just don't stop its like a scene out of speed ! .
When testing with metal screwdriver they don't register.
But when you might be thinking change the proximity switches ( which i have on x just to make sure ) when I run a rectangle test the gantry comes up against the limits and both lights work and its stops .?!
So why via Lightburn or RDW does the Proximity/limits work but not when homing !?

I'm so confused :?
