laser power will not adjust

hi guys
i have a 2nd hand 50w blue and white and i cannot get the laser power to adjust it stays the same whatever i set the power to for the job
ive read about a switch in the psu but removed the cover and cant see anything im not sure if this is a controller issue or a psu problem

any thoughts thanks

He makes a little rig to remote pulse the laser with a power level control. This might help you troubleshoot your problem. At least you may be able to determine if the power supply can adjust the laser tube output. Your machine may use pulse width (rapid on/off) to control the power, this little rig uses a pot to vary the voltage and thus power output which is typical on the K-40 units.

If you are going to use the same connector on your machine make sure you take pictures of the wiring and document the connections BEFORE you start! Tape off any wire ends you remove so that they don’t short out on something.

Please understand that not all power supplies are the same and your wiring and terminals on the power supply could be different.

I built one of these and used a 10K ohm pot.

If you are not confidant in your electrical abilities then I strongly recommend that you do not do this.
