Procedures for Ruida 6432G Controller

All,
I was wondering if somebody could comment on whether this is a silly procedure or if it is normal, for starting up my laser.

A few details:
I purchased the laser from Craigslist and it has "EXLAS" on the front. So, Im not sure about the brand. Nobody has posted in the RDWorkslab with EXLAS in the search box.
It had a Leetro control which I swapped for a Ruida RDC6432G controller and it has an 900 x 800 mm bed.
I think it was manufactured in 2009 and might be an 80 Watt laser.

So, it seems that when I start up the laser, I have to:
1. Make sure to move the head to the upper right, using the arrow keys on the controller. This is where home is located.
1A. When the head is at this position the X & Y read 10000, 10000 on the controller window.

2. I have to make sure the limit switches are touched by the head.
2A. I actually have to move the head away from the limit switches, then back into the limit switches.
2B. I then get an X (or Y) "Hard Limit Trigger!" "Please <ESC>". I then press <ESC>

3. I then have to reset the X & Y limits separately. I do this by going to Menu > Function Set > Axes Reset > X Axis Reset. Then I wait for the controller to do its thing.

4. Then I have to do the same procedure for the Y limit switch.

5. I can now get into Lightburn and create polygons and do a "Frame" without the head crashing.
(I still need to get RDWorks working in my Linux Mint laptop)

If any of this does not work correctly, like the Y axis takes a long time to reset, or does not reset for some reason. I do a factory reset on the controller and load the last good settings and start these procedures over.

Am I missing something?

I still have not been able to do anything with the laser, so I am not sure about the other settings.

What I would like to happen is when I start up the laser, the head moves to the upper right home and has 0,0 values. So I can start fresh. Similar to the Ortur LM2 that I first used.

Any help is appreciated,

Robert - A newbie from Colorado.

If I'm reading this correctly, it sounds like your home is set to the wrong corner. Also, if you have a 900 x 800 bed and your display reads 1000 x 1000, then your bed size is not set properly and the steppers have not been calibrated.

Welcome Robert- your machine is not homing- the X&Y will read 10000 until the machine actually homes and then should update to 0 or whatever your offset is set to. This can be a slow process as there are at least a couple different parameters that set the machine to home. And as Dave sez- it could be set the the wrong corner completely. This thread is a good starting point for you- it actually shows a 6445 controller but as far as I know the parameter [Vendor] files will interchange with your controller. Gene
