Cuts not smooth

What can cause my cuts on 1mm paper stock to have jagged edges?
Effect is minimized on 3mm wood and acrylic.
Some on radius and some on straight lines on the attached photo.

Hi Bob, what sort of scale are we talking about here. Unfortunately there are no dimensions.
I notice your laser is DIY....how long has this been happening?

Based on what you have said, I would suspect your cut speed is far faster on paper than wood or acrylic so my initial thought would be maybe your gantry is not as free to move as you think and you're getting some resistance/jamming causing a bit of a wobble that is not apparent when doing slower cuts. Maybe remove the belts and check your gantry is free and smooth.

For what it's worth, I've been using a dry teflon (PTFE) lube made by WD40 on my linear bearings for the last 6 months. Can't vouch for long term but seems to be working just fine so far.

Accessories: I have a combining lenses, pin tables [homebuilt], honeycomb tables , wireless remote, Modifed Ultimate Air Assist, home built non-powered rotary device, PrusaMK4 and Mini Prusa printers.

Make sure your lens is secure in the tube also.
