RDWorks V8.01.18
CorelDraw X7
Windiws 10
Good evening.
I had finished an engraving project and loaded another file into RDWorks from CorelDraw.
I changed only the speed and power settings in RDWorks in preparation for the next project.
I used the mouse pointer to “press” the start button to send the file to the laser.
The laser beeped 3 times and nothing happened.
I assumed the 3 beeps were indicating something was wrong, however, nothing appeared on the laser keypad screen or on the computer screen.
I checked the USB cable, it appeared to be plugged in and it had pcarried a signal to the computer that prompted the 3 beeps.
I re-started the laser, it found home and then proceeded to the last point of origin I had used and appeared to be ready to receive a file to engrave.
I re-installed the copy of the “Vendor Settings”
Has anyone experienced this problem?
Doe anyone have a solution to this problem?
Thank You,
Roger

To verify the issue you are unable to send a new file to the laser from your computer
When you try the laseer beeped 3 times
"I used the mouse pointer to “press” the start button to send the file to the laser."
To down laod the file from RDWORKS to the laser you must select "download" in the RDWORKS menu on the right bottom.
IF you are pressing "Start" on the laser to download ...the laser is indicating it has no file to execute.
I may not be grasping the actual fault but this is what I have gleamed for your text.
Break - -OR
If you have downlaoded the file to the Laser and you ar epressing start to run the job and then the laser beeps it may be that the file size exceeds the bed size to accomadate the overshoot the laser head needs to move -is there an error msg on the laser display screen?

I had just finished engraving a much larger file, so file size is not the issue.
I sent the file I wanted to engrave to RDWorks
In RDWorks I changed the power and speed settings for the new file.
In RDWorks I then pressed the "Start" button to send the file to the laser for engraving
The laser beeped 3 times (similar to when there is problem such as if I had not chosen any "layers" (color) to engrave or my USB cable was not connected.
The laser did nothing.
There was no error message on either the keypad screen on the laser or on the RDWorks screen on the computer.
More Information-
After turning the machine on, the laser head goes to "home" (top right corner of laser bed) and then proceed to the origin position on the table when the item to be engraved is located.
The laser head can be moved along the X and Y axis using the direction arrows on the laser keypad.

I am not sure what the issue may be...but since you are able to send other files to the laser and burn I would suspect something is amiss with that one file.

possibly over travel on latest file. when engraving it overshoots the engraving to slow down and reverse direction. if you can move the origin away from the edges it may work.
also is the cooling water topped up?

that is scan direction only of course.
the limit shown on the laser does not include overshoot.

Late to the party on this one, but 3 beeps means the job has finished properly. So you've asked the laser to do nothing, and that's what it did. I think you might need to have an unusual combination of layers set to not output, "output selected" and a selection on a not output layer.
