Setting up a new computer and installing software. The previous was Win10, the new one Win11. I use an older version of CorelDRAW ( 2017 ), and Win11 apparently no longer installs VBA, and Corel 2017 needs VBA to install the RDWorks export macro. I've tried several different ways to install VBA that Corel will recognize, but I'm evidentially doing something wrong. Hate to admit, but I started with DOS 2.0 so at least one of my attempts should have worked. But then Win11 is a totally different animal, and Microsoft does their best to make 'legacy' software incompatible with their newer operating systems.

The Corel software is old enough, that tech support is long gone. Anybody out there familiar with Corel under Win11 that could point me in the right direction. I'd really hate to clear Win11 and load Win10 just to get the export macro working.

Hi Dave,

Sorry, I'm not able to help you out with this as I've never used Corel, but I did find this post on Reddit.

So I got tired of waiting on a solution to the broken Corel plugin to be revised for X8-2019 so I just fixed it myself since no one else seemed be able to get working.

I've recompiled and organized the .dll and GMS distributions from two versions of RDworks to create a fully functioning "newest version" of RDworks V8 8.01.40 so that can now successfully export vectors and raster images seamlessly from CorelDraw 2019 directly to the laser software. THIS IS SO MUCH NICER TO USE! and so quick!

No more having to purchase another program to have a flawless plug-in (Macro) feature with CorelDraw2019 !!!

I am currently creating a zip with instruction of this easy file drop that will fix any compatibility issues that previously has hindered the system. I will edit this post with the download link ASAP.

NOTE: You're installing the whole program, but when you click on the plug-in feature it will open a LITE version or RDworks V8. However most everything from the full program will be there and I don't see an issue with it. If you want to open the full standalone version, it can be found in the start menu like it always has been.

UPDATE:
I made a mistake with the instructions. You need to reopen the installer and select the drop down menu that pops up with the installer. Once there select rdworks/corel and then check the box at the bottom that says locate path. Once you do that select install and then a box will pop up for you to locate the path to corel. This will be in your program files under C: . The open the folder that says corel. There will be another folder inside that says CorelDRAW Graphics Suite 2019. Just highlight that and hit ok. This will allow the installer to over write the last install, yet it wont remove the folders i had you replace the others with in the first install. This will fix the error.

All the best

I have that, and used it in the Win10 install. The problem is that is actually the 'second step' so to speak. The macro install, normally or yours, assumes that VBA has been installed. I purchased a MeLE N5105 brick that only had Win11 installed. None of the other bloatware. That in itself my be the problem in that without the bloatware, VBA wasn't installed to support any of that junk. Without the VBA installed, attempting to open the OPTIONS sub menu in Corel only pops up with the error message that VBA is not installed.

BTW, can't see why in the settings, but I am not receiving email notifications of responses, so I may not read them right away.
