Stepper Motor Instructions: Help Troubleshooting

I want to start debugging my stepper as soon as possible so here are some things I've learned. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I have a 4 phase stepper motor (https://www.oyostepper.com/category-68- ... Motor.html).
In my TB I observe that step 255 is fully on and step 65 is fully off. So I would/should set the IAC start to 60,

Then my start steps, they are in steps not positions correct? So the hotter the clt, the fewer steps, so IE 10-20 steps might be common and a cold clt might be around 60, correct?

When adjusting the IAC sep bins, are they in positions or the number of steps from the IAC start? Position means, at operating temp I should shut down, so at step 65, or is this the step from IAC start, at operating temp I want shut down, so at step 0 from IAC start?
