Not a fan of telling about myself, makes it seem as if I think I am important.
I'm just another laser-hobbyist who bought his first machine in 2012. A Shenhui 350. 50W, 30x50 cm. And even though I always wanted a bigger machine, there were always reasons to postpone. Money, space, time, you name it. So it took until last year to get a new machine, forced by the fact that the controller in my Shenhui died and getting a new one would take a month. This happened a couple of weeks before Christmas when we always attend the local Christmas market with personalized items (we live just across the street from the venue). A new machine could arrive in a couple of days. So we took the plunge. 100W 60x90. Huge. Orange. A disaster. Housing was warped over 10mm, so it was impossible to get the mirrors to align. Got money back, took the thing apart after the new controller for my 350 arrived and I am now designing a new housing for a new machine using (some of) the parts from the discarded beast.
So even though I have 14 years of experience (how time flies) I still learn a little everyday, whether it is from Russ' videos (I don't think I have seen half of them, time still being an issue) or from forums like this one.
