The valve WILL NOT regulate down to a small trickle of air and it will not even come close to cutting the air off when screwed in as tight as it will go.
Brian, that is the same valve I ordered from ebay yesterday.
Thanks

For bypass control, I just use an ice maker valve. MIP on one side and push on the other. Did the same thing for my burn test valve. Got my T from Grainger.

Hello all ... well after several months of waiting I finally received my Cloudray Ultimate Air Assist Kit .... I have installed it as per MW Laser Video .... but I can't get my Air Relay connected to my Air Compressor to engage from the Relay ..... is there something I'm missing ?

Thanx for any and all help with my issue :)

Look at Russ' diagram. The Ruida controller switches the ground. If you wired the solenoid between WIND and ground you're connecting the same sides of the equation. Also check your diode if you put it in yourself. Switching the ground also means you have to put the diode in the other way around.

Hi Dave and Thank You for your reply .... here is a picture of how I wired the Relay .... as I said per MW Laser Video

Not sure what your picture is of, I used the solenoid Russ sent me a pic of and made the rest. Your solenoid should only have two terminals to go to your controller. I have a pic of mine here amongst the others. I added a fitting and valve ahead of the solenoid for a burn test air source. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/ ... sp=sharing

Here's Russ, diagram.

Just a question @Brian to make sure we are all on the same page as I think @Dave is trying to get to the bottom of.

The SOLENOID is hooked up directly to the Ruida controller as the optocoupled outputs have a sufficient current rating for this purpose. The RELAY/BASE is only used to turn on or off one of the small diaphragm compressors if used. If you are using a shop air supply then you will not need the Relay in your wiring.

Thank You Dave and Tim .... now it's starting to make sense .... so the Air Solenoid on my Compressor I would hook the wires on the Controller Wind and 24V ? .... and leave the Toggle switch wired the same ?

You have two TOTALLY separate circuits.

1. Air assist via the solenoid.

2. Compressor control via the relay.

Relay A in Russ' drawing sole purpose is to power up the compressor when the laser controller calls for work via the STATUS terminal.

Switch E over rides the controller STATUS output and manually powers the compressor relay AND engages the Air Assist. They are separate circuits, hence the DPST switch E and the diode.

If you have a constant air supply or use the diaphragm pump supplied with the laser cutter and it's on any time the laser is powered up, then relay A is no longer necessary and switch E becomes a standard SPST switch to give the solenoid the ground connection normally supplied by the WIND terminal.

Do note the polarity of the diode. I forgot that the controller is switching the ground and had mine in backwards. Since I have had cooling and air issues, I also brought LED's to my custom control panel to show the status of both. A 1K to 1.3K resistor works nice depending on your LED when powered from the 24V terminal.

Hi Dave that is exactly what I'm trying to do .... use the Relay to open the Air Solenoid on my Shop Air Compressor so I have constant air when needed .... and I have to be honest when it comes to electronic schematics I am totally lost .... hence a picture is a thousand words.

I'm pretty sure I have the Diodes in right .... before I installed the kit I had the Compressor Air on 24v and Wind and all worked well just not the really low air for Scanning
