Is there a wat to measure something in RD? I am trying a new method with powder coat on a cup. What I want to do is leave the monogram powder coat. I'm going to do so by lasering a powder coated square away just leaving the initials. My problem is I need the initials to be 3.5 x 3.5 inches, but the border bigger. I do I measure the initials to know they are correct size

I use the grid spacing to setup my dimension roughly and create lines that intersect components and the x/y scale.
I would not say it is convenient to work I RD.
In your case create a box 3.5 (or what ever dimension you require for the text) and adjust text inside the box to suit -then either delete the box or move the box to a layer that does not output
