In case it helps others, I ran the parts through Deepnest for about 10 minutes and here is the optimized/nested file it came up with after specifing a 2 mm gap between parts.

I downloaded Doug's and cut and assembled one out of MDF for a friend who's a French teacher. She's well pleased and now two of her colleagues want one as well! Something about laser work that when people see it they decide they want one as well isn't there?
I have a chinese 50watt. My bed is 12"x20". How big are these?
What size ply are they designed for?
Sorry if I ask elementary questions. I am new to lasers and don't have any experience using patterns such as this. My grandkids went to Paris last year and I'd like to make them each one of these.
I downloaded these a while ago and have just checked my copy. The longest section is about 270mm and the widest is about 140mm. I could be mistaken but I don't think I resized the originals so you should be OK on your machine. 3mm thickness if I remember correctly. They work beautifully and are easily assembled. I don't know your grandkids ages but if they're about 7-12 I'd think they'd love helping you assemble and paint them.
