1 Engrave all the detail
2 Cut around the edge.

This is what I do.
Import image into your page.
Click bitmaps and then resize to 600 x 600
Click bitmaps Convert to bitmap
Click Bitmaps, Click Colour, Black and white and then line art (Here you can use the slider to make your lines darker and broader if required.)
Once again click bitmaps and then trace (Trace Module should open up)
Click trace and then trace outline
Close trace module down (It will ask you if you want to save changes, Click yes.

You have now been returned to your page and you now have 2 layers on the screen, You can't see them but you have a bitmap of your original line art and you have a vector of all the cuts. one lying on top of the other. Now the one that is highlighted at the moment is your vector file and it will have not only the outline cut but every cut from your image and we now need to get rid of all the internal cuts from your image.

So now click image and then ungroup all.
Click outside the page to unselect image.
Now this is the hard bit to follow, But once you have done this correctly, You will never forget and it's real easy.
I want you to go outside page at the bottom right and click and hold down left mouse, scroll up 3/4 of your image and go to outside of ;left hand side of page. This should highlight some cuts in your vector image. I want you to delete these.

Now repeat this but starting from outside top left and ending up 3/4 down to outside right. This has now highlighted the remainder of the inside vectors. Now delete these.
On the screen now should be a black silhouette of your original line art image. If that's on the screen you have done it.
Last thing to do is click arrange and then send to back. Your vector image will now sit behind your bitmapped Line art image. You can now send this to the laser and it will always engrave first and cut out second.
