Anyone actually done this. I have been asked to engrave bricks for a local school fund raiser.

- Accessories: I have a combining lenses, pin tables [homebuilt], honeycomb tables , wireless remote, Modifed Ultimate Air Assist, home built non-powered rotary device, PrusaMK4 and Mini Prusa printers.
I have tried this and have a friend who has a similar opportunity. The composition of the brick varies a lot and the national companies who do this have their own bricks made.It takes a lot of highly concentrated power, and rather than scan engraving I believe they use a vector path to cut the lettering. I am on the road in Calif right now but will be home in 4-5 days where I have more info.

I will try and get a photo of a couple of what we call here Black Mono Blocks, These are bricks here we use in the making of Drive ways. I have engraved these using Scan at a very slow speed and produced white text on the black brick,
