Too bad they are uploading CDR files. It would be nice if they could upload at least SVG as well.

Libre Office Draw and Inkscape open them and the look to scale and are both free downloads. But yep SVG would have been nicer.

I'm trying to convert these to a DFX format using Inkscape. The vectors seem to get all botched up in the conversion. Is there any best practices or settings recommended when doing this?

inkscape is bad at exporting to DXF. before using mainly lightburn (which handles svg finely), i had to export from SVG to EPS then using imagemagick conversion from EPS to DXF (in command line). not very easy, but that was the best i could do to work with inkscape and RDWorks without losing too much in the conversion process.

thanks for the response although it seems to be a little over my head :D. just for fun though with lightburn do you still open it with inkscape and save it as a EPS to import it to lightburn?

lightburn opens directly SVG files without a problem, so i go direct from SVG --> LB. no need for conversion. this is one of the many reasons i switched to LB.
