Good evening folks...
So ive had this laser https://www.ebay.com/itm/20-x-28-60W-CO ... SwDrpdZfnc

for a couple of years.
Its been fairly decent.
Right away it seemed (early on) the power supply went out..., I thought it was the tube, so I bought a new tube from a good american company light object. Turned out it was the PS...
Fast forward to a few months ago.. I went to power it on after a long absence and bam,, No power again... It was the PS again.
Now tonight, I went to use it again, and bam no power.
Im not sure if it is the PS this time, or maybe the tube , but the amp meter is showing 0, so I am guessing PS.

Any idea why i am having such issues with the power supplies>? is there a really high quality one I should be buying?
Here is the one I bought a couple months ago.

thanks

EDIT, lucky its still within amazon return window. so im just having them ship another one... If it blows on me, ill find something else. but the question is still valid.. what is it with the power issues? anyone else have this laser with a similar issue>?

So the power supplies fans etc are not running at all... so its absolutely the PS... but im wondering why the heck its blowing when not even in use, or when it starts up.. very odd.

Check to see if a fuse in the pwr supply has failed.
I can only think of a couple reasons it failed as you described.

Hooked up wrong and is shorting
Hooked up correct and shorting
Bad connection with high resistance

Id have to tear it apart to check for a fuse. but ill do that... Yeah its strange, both of the last failures of PSs were just random.. Power on unit, no go.
It wasnt like it failed mid cut or something.

the only fuse I can find is a small fuse, but its inline with the board. hard wired in..
But it also doesnt appear to be blown at all.

Could it be the incoming (120V AC) power that's causing the problem? In other words, do you often have power spikes or outages (do the lights in the room flicker or anything)? Are there any power-consuming appliances nearby (oven, table saw, etc.)?
