I import a lot of drawing files from acad as dxf, most of the time I can manipulate the imported files easily, but in some cases the zoom feature goes haywire and my drawing disappears from sight. This does not happen all the time and I hit the show page button to recapture the view but it continues to act up and I have lost the zoom feature completely. Is this a quirky attribute in RDWORKS or is there a setting that maybe getting reset occasionally?

DFX files don't contain sizing info, AFAIK. Also the newest versions of RDw are sometimes buggy.

What I always do is to draw a rectangle that is 500mm x 300mm (which is the size of my laser bed). All my designs have this rectangle around them.
When I import the DXF, I re-size it to 500x300mm. I then delete the rectangle.

I use .ai files for that reason, BTW.

"Much to do about nothing" After making the post regarding losing my zoom feature I continued my search for a remedy...until 10 minutes ago. I have dual screens with the right side as the home screen. Most of the time I work Rdworks on the left screen and AutoCAD on the right. This morning I did not have AutoCAD open and worked on the right screen in Rdworks and the zoom worked perfectly. I needed to make an adjustment to the project and opened up AutoCAD to do so and switch screens and that's when the zoom stopped. So having gotten used to that happening I thought nothing until I closed AutoCAD and moved Rdworks to the right screen and zoom worked.....just thought I would share this.

RDWorks mouse zoom feature does not work on anything but the primary monitor. On 8.01.41 it simply ignores the mouse zoom completely if it's not on the main display, which I suppose could be called an improvement.

I do the same thing, with my primary on the right. Want to have a good chuckle. Go into your display settings and drag your secondary to the right side of the primary. My .41 scroll zoom works just perfectly if it has the secondary on the right. Set it back to the left side and it totally ignores the scroll zoom.

Could we say RDWorks has something against left handed people? Or just that the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing? Or...
