I'm sorry to hear that you are trouble with the diagram. I was also a bit confused when I saw it for the first time. I was able to work thru the connection paths after watching Russ at RDWorks Learning Labs in Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZKC8Byc8y28 He explains the process step-by-step. Try it you won't go wrong...
