Hi, wonder if someone can help me.Trying to get the kerf sorted out on my laser cutter, all over the net (and manuals)it says there is a drop down box to indicate inside/outside cut on :layer parameters>seal>advanced but on mine it only give me the option to turn on sew compensation and enter width allowance.

Have downloaded v8.1.48 but still the same issue.

Have quickly tried offset polygon bu assume this only applies to outside cuts.

Thanks for the reply,sorry i assumed this was something for cnc due to the cut in cut out commands.

So i guess i set the kerf in the ...seal>advanced one time and this will be applied to whatever i manually set as inner/outer shapes on the drawing.

like i say, i looked at other manuals (thunder, boss etc) and they all showed the dropdown list under the seal setting.

I usually use "auto" for determining if something is "in cut" or "out cut". I then go through and click on a few objects to ensure that RDWorks got it right.

By the way, I found a bug in 8.01.24 - if you Delete Overlap to get rid of overlapping lines, sometimes the one that's deleted causes a figure to not be a closed figure anymore. You can check this by changing your cut layer to Scan - the fill on the screen won't be right. And if RDWorks doesn't know a figure is "closed" then it'll get the In Cut vs Out Cut wrong.

Oh, and there's no way to save the "In Cut / Out Cut" information. The RLD file simply doesn't store this data.

thanks for the reply, cheers for the tip re overlap joints, ill keep an eye on that.

shame its not saved in the rd file, gonna try a few test cuts now.
