One of out lady designers has been making signs for her friends and I think they are interesting. They are 1x3' edge glued pine blanks from our local DIY store and engraved on our 1300x900 laser. The first one was the Lucerno sign which was 3.5 hours to engrave @ 300 mm/sec and my exhaust system was not keeping up so I experimented and we settled on 500mm/sec which resulted in overrun which just fit on the bed but still very precise engraving and total time of about 1.75 hours. I also suggested she move the wood to the rear of the machine for better extraction- which worked fine. The lettering on the Balck sign was hand painted BTW. It pleases me that they utilize the laser and think it is Kehl [she is 21 yo]. These are indoor signs.
