Ive been using RD works to learn the basics of shape cutting, i am trying to look into shading and cross hatching for depth to 2d lasering, so expect a lot of questions and ill help where i can, the machine im using was donated and in need of ALOT of TLC, so again prepare for some questions on maintenance or if parts are missing ect,

Welcome Steve- please read the FAQ section and record your machine parameters before going further, it may save problems later. In answer to your question about engraving at a diagonal- it can be done easier in Lightburn but I think a better way to do it is to prepare the font into the diagonals in a different program and then engrave the in the normal X axis [across the gantry] which is easier [faster] for the machine. I was suggesting that you record your Vendor and User parameters as outlined in the FAQ section. It is common for peeps [especially when we are finding our way around a new machine] to erase this info and it can be quite a project to find your way back to what the factory settings were.
