See photo if I don't forget to attach, lol. Things go along fine, and eventually the line part gets off as it progresses through all the places. Before you think rotary, it isn't, I have checked at least 3 times, rebooted both computer and the machine. I sent the file over via usb cable and I got to thinking in the middle of the night I will try the thumb drive as I was having a similar issue way back that resolved with doing thumb drive.
But the lightburn forum only got me a response from one of the developers requesting my computer an such information.
Fill+line is off

I assume from the picture you have two layers...on set to scan and a copy of the 1st layer set to cut
if that is true...did you make an exact copy of the first layer without any editing and make the 2nd layer an outline cut?
It appears odd that some text at the start is aligned..then not aligned and then aligned again
look at your belts for missing teeth - check pulley cogs tight.
i would also do a precision test viewtopic.php?f=105&t=3528
and the testing in the follwoing link

Fill+line in my version is not seperate, it is combined. The fill is done first and the line second. The link shows features I do not have in my version.

Well I just tried using a usb stick and there was an improvement, pretty significant, but it is still there. You have to be looking for it to find it.
@Pete, No problem, I am not even getting answers on the lightburn forum, it is a strange problem and with my minimal coding experience I think it is a math issue in the programming, but WHY does going to USB stick make a difference?

Why the USB makes a difference I dont know but the author of the Lightburn Software stops in here periodically to answer questions - perhaps he will spot your issue and answer
In the mean time try creating 2 layer directly on top of each other - set on layer to scan and one layer to cut and see how that works.
if it is aligned the issue is not your machine it is Lightburn - if it is off it is likely your machine

I will try that, I may also try the RDWorks software but need to load that. And I don't know that software at all. This problem is also on their forum.

usb stick (or "send file" + launch from machine not from the computer) is better than "start" from rdworks or LB, because the file is totally prepped and complete on the stick. if using USB or network cable, this is the software that sends the job instructions as it completes, so you can lose instructions, either because of the USB port going to sleep, another program uses all the CPU on the computer, ...Pete Cyr wrote: Wed Jun 30, 2021 Why the USB makes a difference I dont know but the author of the Lightburn Software stops in here periodically to answer questions - perhaps he will spot your issue and answer
also, the problem may be mechanical... if you set a speed/acceleration too high, you may "lose steps" on the motor, so the engraving will slowly shift. but after that, when it comes to the "line" part, the machine will try to start from the 0,0 of the job, oblivious to the fact that it slipped... thus the shifting.
you can try to decrease speed for engraving, or decrease the acceleration, and see if it improves.
also check for slack in the belts, vibrations that could cause the board to shift laterally (clamp/magnets can help)

Sebastian, thank you for sending me to those acceleration settings, I stumbled over what I believe to be the problem. In those screens, the rotary is enabled and in the setup and laser tabs, it is turned off. Sent a file via cable to laser (which has shown greatest goof up, printing full file now, a partial file got all but the last 2 letters without mistake. Almost there.....stand by.....It cured 99% of the issue. The last 3 letters were slightly ghosted. I am happier

Lightburn admitted to me they have a problem they cannot duplicate in 9.24. It seems confined to "fill+line" (scan and cut in RD speak). Also seems mor pronounced if you send file over usb cable versus using usb stick and I don't have the option of using ethernet. So they are working on it.
