Hi, I am a 62 y.o. Robotics & Automation Engineer with a large manufacturing company in Australia.
We have several lasers on-site already and are currently installing a new fibre laser machine that will cut 20mm mild steel (or so the manufacturer claims).
Not wanting to be found wanting, I decided to buy a small machine of my own to experiment with, so I at least have some understanding of the in’s & outs of the process.
Therefore I have just purchased my first laser, an SL1060 DSP machine from a company called ChinaCNCZone - They have a branch in Australia and arranged door to door delivery via a tailgate lift truck and I am mightily pleased with the quality of both machine & service they provided.
Although the machine worked well straight out of the box I am busily changing things and adding functionality to better meet my aim of making stuff with my Grandlings (I have 5, 4 boys and a girl, ranging in age from 13 down to 8) and together we work with Arduino electronic components to build robots and such.
I have very many questions about using my new toy (My wife’s description), and the RD6445G controller it shipped with, so bear with me if I ask the same old questions you have all heard before - I will try a search before posting, but I usually get my phraseology wrong anyway, so apologies in advance.

Welcome Chris, be sure to back up your vendor settings….they are easily lost and difficult to recover.

G’day Chris i have the same machine as you i have had it for 5 months & has been working perfectly on USB until i tried to use Ethernet because of the problems i was having i thought i had corrupted the controller so i did a factory reset i have now lost the Vendor settings the machine does not home it moves to the front on the machine & jams at the front also the toggle buttons are now reversed i have tried changing the direction in the settings but no joy also i dont know what the focus length should be as in the settings it is 0 .
Would you have a copy of the vendor settings, i have sent email off to the Australian distrobuter also the CNC China Zone but as yet no reply
I am located in Wollongong NSW
