This is a little tool I created to help me focus my machine for engraving and cutting. This will vary for every laser and their respective focal length, but hopefully the concept will be useful for someone.
The top edge has the machine's actual focal length on the left, then a +2mm offset for engraving, and then gradually steps down to lower the laser to cut thicker material.
The bottom edge has a small ruler to measure material thickness.

Very concise design and interesting concept for adjusting head to support cutting depths for thicker materials.
