premature lasering

I recently had to do a major cleaning and alignment Have been using this machine for 4-5 years I loaded the same file I have been using for all the time before the cleaning and alignment I normally engrave the Granite twice to get a good depth I ran the program I time and it worked perfect I reran it a second time I got a line drag (the laser turned on) burned a line in the granite to the area where it was to engrave and instead of engraving the letters it had engraved originally It treated the area as a rectangle and engraved it solid and I have not been able to engrave anything with out a line being etched in getting to the starting point of my text
